Ramon Rivera, 51, pleaded guilty to the 2020 drug-induced death, authorities said.
Felipe Popocati Garcia Lopez, 42, died after he and a 39-year-olld man were found unresponsive inside Haps Laundromat on Sept. 23, 2020, according to Atlantic County Prosecutor Will Reynolds.
Both men were taken to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Campus. Garcia Lopez was pronounced dead.
An investigation determined that Rivera sold Garcia-Lopez and Isidro Arenas a fatal combination of heroin, cocaine, and fentanyl. Rivera worked at the laundromat.
The plea agreement calls for Rivera to be sentenced to a term of 10 years in New Jersey State Prison subject to the No Early Release Act. Sentencing is set for Nov. 28
This was a cooperative investigation between the Atlantic City Police Department and the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Unit.
